"Why I love Le Mars"

2011 Photo Hunt

The Le Mars Convention and Visitors Bureau is asking you to share your favorite photos of “Why I love Le Mars”.

Are you taking interesting photos of life in Le Mars? We are still looking for “Why I Love Le Mars” photos. Please submit your fall choices by December 15 and we will exhibit a few selected photos at the Arts Center. All others will be on file for the Convention and Visitor’s Bureau to use in advertising our great city and county.

Contest Details:

• All Entries must be taken within Plymouth County, Iowa.
• Deadline December 15
• Participants may submit an unlimited number of photos.
• Photo ideas, just you having fun in Le Mars

Awards:

• Selected photos may be featured in the Le Mars Visitors Guide, web site, Le Mars Convention & Visitors Bureau, Le Mars Arts Center, and many other bureau publications.
• Selected photos will be on display at the Le Mars Arts Center.

Rules/Guidelines

Photos must be taken within Plymouth County, Iowa.  Contest is open to any and all ages, amateur and professional photographers.  Individuals need not reside within Le Mars.  Pictures not meeting the specified guidelines will be disregarded.

Entries/How to Submit

1.        Digital Images

A. All images (max of 5 megabytes) need to be in JPG or JPEG digital format, portrait or landscape orientation, NO digital borders and with a resolution suitable for an 8x10 display.  (please do not resample small files to fit requirements)

B. Please accompany CD with a completed entry form and print-out for each image submitted.

C. Digital images may also be submitted by emailing photos and digital scans of completed application forms to: lemarsarts@frontiernet.net, with “Photo Contest” in the subject line. Or Click here to enter instantly online.

2.       Photos containing recognizable people must be accompanied by a signed model release form.  Model release and entry forms are available at the top right of this page.

3.       Images may have minor alterations for color, contrast, cropping, etc., but may not be significantly altered, appear unnatural or have elements added or removed.

4.       Entries, regardless of medium will not be returned.  Please do not send your only copy of an image. 

THE LE MARS CONVENTION & VISITORS BUREAU IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY MATERIAL LOST, DAMAGED OR  MISDIRECTED IN THE MAIL.

Display

Selected photos will be on display at the Le Mars Arts Center and will be used in the Le Mars Visitors Guide, Le Mars web site and other various bureau publications.

Reproduction Rights

Entry in the contest constitutes agreement to allow photographs to be published, exhibited and used in all forms and/or media by the City of Le Mars Convention & Visitors Bureau.  Entrants retain all rights to their photographs.
