Sing, dance and play through the seasons in “Hello Weather, Let’s Play Together!” This is a Family Time class for children birth through 7 and their care-giver.
45 minute classes are scheduled on Monday evening starting at 6:30 p.m. and Wednesday morning starting at 9:45 a.m. Both are 12 week sessions and begin Monday, September 13 and Wednesday, September 15.
The registration fee is $70 per family. We thank the United Way of Le Mars for granting money to continue this program. Carol Hallberg is instructor.
Vivian Miller will continue Art 101 with eight week sessions beginning Tuesday, September 7 from 3:45 to 5:00 p.m. The Tuesday class will focus on basic drawing and the Thursday (3:45 to 5:00 p.m.) class will focus on former and intermediate students. Emphasis will be on using graphite with introduction to other mediums. Classes are open to 4th graders to adults. Adults may also call and request evening classes. Class fee is $50 per eight week session.
Jean Weiner continues her free-form watercolor classes on Wednesdays (no set session is scheduled). Students may attend as their schedules permit. Class sizes are small and Jean works independently with each student. No sketching skills are required. Work from one of Jean's suggested compositions while you learn techniques to be successful with this medium. Plan to complete your first watercolor in 3 classes (6 hours of instruction). Advance to developing original compositions of your own! Although these classes are geared for adults, Jean accepts adults and younger students (middle school age and older) that are serious and attentive about learning how to paint with watercolor. Classes are held on Wednesdays from1:00 to 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The fee is $25 per class.

The Le Mars Arts Council is grateful to the City of Le Mars, the Community Foundations of Greater Plymouth County, the Convention and Visitors Bureau of Le Marts, IA and the United Way of Le Mars for providing funds for our operational budget, special equipment and teachers. Our programs are brought to you only because of this help. |
The teaching staff at the Arts Center consists of very skilled individuals, ready to share talent to engage the mind and inspire the spirit.
We always have openings for new classes—and ALWAYS need teachers to step forward to teach these classes. Teachers DO get paid. The Le Mars Arts Council considers teachers to be artists, and from class registrations, we return 70% to the teacher. If we are working with grant money, things get even better.
We are recruiting. Would you like to teach?
