The Native Waters exhibition is an invitational presentation featuring regional water media artists of all levels.
The call for submissions is open by invitation only to artists residing in the regions of Iowa, Southwest Minnesota, Southeast South Dakota, and Northeast Nebraska.
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Pieces will be selected in a jurying process. Submission does not guarantee selection. Multiple pieces may be selected. LMAC reserves the right to refuse any artwork for any reason.
DELIVERY & RETURN
Selected works must be hand-delivered or shipped and received by Saturday, June 11th. Shipping to and from the Le Mars Arts Center is the responsibility of the artist. Include any specific installation instructions, if necessary.
SALES
The gallery will charge a 30% commission on each piece that is sold during the exhibit. When a work is sold, the gallery will pay the artist 70% of the total price within 10 days of receipt of payment. No piece will be released to a buyer until the close of the exhibition.

The Le Mars Arts Center is a non-profit community art center located in downtown Le Mars, Iowa, the Ice Cream Capitol of the World. Housed in a historic Carnegie Library building since 1976, the Le Mars Arts Center serves the people of Siouxland with art classes and outreach, rotating exhibits, an open art studio, and a retail gallery shop.
The Le Mars Arts Center is a 501(c)(3) funded through memberships, donations, and grants including the Gilchrist Foundation and the Iowa Arts Council.

- Up to 3 works may be submitted. Artwork submitted must be original, use water media (watercolor, gouache, acrylic, and any combination of these), be a minimum size of 5”x7” (unframed), and have been completed within the last 2 years.
- E-mail submission by high-quality digital images is required. Our Exhibition Committee will make the final selections by viewing the submitted images, and selected images may be used on the Le Mars Arts Center website, and in marketing materials.
- All work must be suitably framed to a professional standard, with a wire attached for hanging that will hold the weight of the piece (no saw-tooth hangers please).
- Work cannot be withdrawn, nor sales shipped, before the end of the exhibit.
- Submit artwork images and Resume and/or Artist’s Statement to lemarsarts@gmail.com. There is no application fee to submit your artwork. Label each image with Artist’s name, Size, and Title.
