The 157th Annual Traveling Exhibition of the American Watercolor Society (AWS) will be on display June 11th - July 13th, 2024 in the galleries of the Le Mars Arts Center located in downtown Le Mars, Iowa.
Revered as one of the most prestigious art societies in the world, AWS members have included renowned artists such as Edward Hopper, Andrew Wyeth and Charles Burchfield.
This highly anticipated exhibition includes over 40 paintings selected from over 1,000 submissions by artists around the world. The Le Mars Arts Center has been a cultural hub in the vibrant community of Le Mars since 1976. The Le Mars Arts Center will host this year exhibit’s summer appearance, during our community's local holiday festival Ice Cream Days.
Le Mars Arts Council President Nancy Thoma stated, "We are honored the AWS selected us to present these extraordinary paintings to our community. Thanks to funds from the Travel Iowa Tourism Grant and the Le Mars Convention and Visitors Bureau, we have been able to bring back this amazing exhibit to the midwest."
